Gemini New Moon | A Thought Experiment in Wonder & Wholeness

Gemini New Moon | May 2025

This New Moon in Gemini is an open mind that is open to being open. The mind is quick in Gemini season, and it’s quickened still with Mercury conjunct the New Moon, also in Gemini. These three bodies together form the chattiest of chattiest new beginnings. The tone is like Gemini x Gemini x Gemini = the New Moon.

This lunation is best understood as a thought experiment taking form: what becomes possible when we loosen our grip on what we think we know?

Curiosity and open-mindedness are the intentions to reach for. Let yourself accept that you don’t know what you don’t know. Let yourself be of two minds—or better yet, a constellation of unconnected dots.

The power of this New Moon is not in arriving at conclusions but in liberating the psyche from the pressure to decide.

Jupiter, the Nodes, and the Expansion of Belief

Jupiter continues to square the lunar nodes in Virgo and Pisces. This ongoing tension keeps pushing us to expand our sense of what is possible, but not through perfectionism (Virgo) or escapism (Pisces).

The South Node in Virgo invites us to release obsession with precision and over-analysis. The North Node in Pisces asks us to step into the great wide field of faith, to dream beyond what we can prove.

Jupiter, as the bridge between these poles, becomes the guide to rewire belief systems and reimagine what our futures might hold.

What if there are no mistakes? What if every false start, every perceived failure, belongs to your cycles of becoming? What if it all informs your present and all points to possibility?

The Gemini–Sagittarius Polarity

Jupiter is associated with Sagittarius, the opposite sign of Gemini, and continues to travel through Gemini itself. The Gemini–Sagittarius polarity is a piston: learning and teaching, discovering and becoming, perceiving and preaching. Preaching often carries a negative connotation—we think of it as being talked at. But the deeper "preach" is our living testimony: the right to share our truth.

Let the teachers learn and let the students teach. There is no fixed hierarchy under this New Moon.

Pluto’s Influence: Collective Rebirth

Pluto in Aquarius trines the New Moon, simmering beneath the surface of our psyches. This subtle but potent current points to collective transformation. Our curiosity and fresh perspectives are supported by Pluto’s invisible momentum, encouraging power to shift toward the many rather than the few. Innovations that support equality and decentralization of power are being dreamt into being right now.

And yet, Pluto always brings its shadows. In Aquarius, distortions can center around collective identity and ideology. What if we are only at war with each other because we believe only we can be right? What if everything is true and everyone is right?

True collectivity is a field of equals, not adversaries. How would it feel to need no opposing view to feel safe in your own authentic experience?

This is the spirit of Gemini in its highest expression: not duality for the sake of division, but multiplicity as a mirror of Nature’s diversity and vastness.

Mars & Venus: Choosing Your Fire

Meanwhile, Mars in Leo and Venus in Aries stir the fire. The drive is there to create, to initiate, to follow our passions into form. But fire, unchecked, can also become conflict, pride, drama, and volatility. This energy invites us to choose our burn: will we channel it into courage and contribution, or release it through reaction and harm?

Saturn, Neptune & Chiron: Courage to Be Whole

Saturn has just broken ground, moving from its two-year journey through Pisces into the beginning of Aries. Here it immediately aligns with Neptune, which has also entered Aries for the first time. These two will dance back and forth across the Pisces–Aries threshold into next year, forming one of the most significant generational conjunctions of our era.

What do Neptune, Saturn, and Aries have in common? Energetically they seem at odds. But astrology is not ultimately about compatibility or conflict—it’s about synergy and integration. What are these energies alchemizing for the benefit of all?

At their most potent, this duo invites a collective snapping out of illusion. Not to bypass the sacred grief of all we have survived, but to shift identification away from disempowerment. This is not about denying the past. It is about transforming survival into strength, pain into purpose.

Saturn and Neptune in Aries ask us to build the future—not from certainty, but from courage. They call us to be spiritually independent, mature, and resilient. To be the ones who show strength through devotion, not domination.

Chiron’s journey through Aries echoes this same call—to tend the wounds of identity not by masking or avoiding them, but by weaving them into strength. Personal empowerment becomes collective medicine when it rises not from reactivity, but from integrity and sovereignty. We empower others not by resisting opposition, but by radiating wholeness and dignified presence. When we cultivate empowered presence, our energy-field becomes stronger and more magnetic.

Gemini New Moon Poem

An open mind can open my heart
Wonder can soften my fear
The unknown can show me grace
Even bring peace when nothing is clear
